Nihilism is never justified, but moving to another country would be.

Whatever floats your boat Tweed, though I'd say turning to Nihilism in the face of the United States government my yourself Tweed would be about as effective as a bunch of crippled dwarfs trying to climb the Grand canyon in order to reach the summit of paradise. It just makes no sense.

slightly OT: Are you are from long Island btw and into DIY?

I've lived within a 2-mile radius in Suffolk County for my entire life.  so, yes, I'm from LI.  and DIY?  as in do-it-yourself indie-punk dumpster-dive for clothes and live in condemned buildings?  no, not quite.  I'm a lot less pure than I'd like to be in terms of being another useless, wasteful, white, upper-middle class consumer.  and it kills me every day, but I don't have the sack to do anything about it.  but somehow I don't think that's what you meant.

Fair enough; and in my moping stages (like right now for instance - usually whenever I am on this forum - which I have spend a sum total of a month on now - joined 13 months ago.) I feel like that.

I ask especially as I know someone (a friend of a friend really..) who is really big into DIY and has regularly stayed in an commune of sorts in Long Island; he usually ends up driving bands around America and he currently has my coat... the fiend. Just curious if that was your social scene. (If you have anything to add to this It might be best done by PM.)

PROTIP: It's generally a good idea to mold your life around something stronger and less stupid than politics.

If Huckabee gets nominated, he'll win 4 states. I don't get what's up with these guys thinking he'll pose a threat to good ol' Hillary.

Are you talking about just giving up? Hmmmm...interesting. However, there will be consequences for doing that. I would say it would REALLY give me another look at my fellow man and the fundamental contradiction.

Turning to nihilism is never justified.  We have a democratic republic here.  There is no excuse to not live life to one's full potential and serve as a productive, virtuous citizen.

I really hate the philosophy, but sadly our generation could be one of the most nihilistic generations of America to date.

It depends, if he turns into another Ford than I would strongly consider it.  Obama is really the only dangerous candidate at this point though

People think he went to a madrassa, where he allegedly became a terrorist. That's baloney.  The person who started that rumor should be sued.

You can do all those things and still be a Nihilist, Prude Caldwell.  You just don't attach any 'meaning' to them.  In fact I could argue that the best way to stomach an 'american lifestyle' is to secretly consider it ironic.

Actually, opebo has a point. I am not very supportive of nihilism, but I can see how one might still be a "productive, virtuous citizen" and a "nihilist".

Nihilism is stupid. I agree that life has no purpose but to try and help your fellow man and be a faithful Christian but the no God part is dumb.
