I'm thinking John Thune right now, though Romney would probably choose Kay Bailey Hutchison.

I vote Ridge for Penn. or the DHS experience, especially if the nominee is Romney or Huckabee. I think the nominee will be McCain; Ridge is still a good pick. I think most of the governors are useless to the ticket unless they bring a sizable state or a specific type of experience like Richardson and Ridge can.

Other: Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Though maybe not the best for *every* possible nominee.  I assume McCain would pick someone younger, for example.

I say Thune, especially for someone like Rudy or McCain, hes reasonably young but experienced(Perfect for McCain) and he also has a gravitas that will help Giuliani in the general election.
