Let's assume that:

The Republicans re-nominated the Bush/Cheney ticket for another 4 years.
The Democrats nominated Kerry/Edwards.
But the Libertarians nominated movie producer Aaron Russo and actor/producer Clint Eastwood and shocks the mainstream media. Many celebrities are strongly endorsing the Russo/Eastwood ticket as it would be a big change. Russo ran as a Republican in the primary for Gov of Nevada and Eastwood was mayor of a small town in California.

Knowing that there are other candidates as well, how would the race turnout? Any surprises? Do the Libertarians get over the 5% necessary to get federal funds for future elections? Thanks! Smiley

I would say it would be a 5% where 3.3 are taken from B/C and 1.7 get taken from K/E. The result would be  - National result- 47-46-5-1 Nader.

Libertarians- 4% in the Midwest and South, 6% in the West and NW, 4% in Nevada and 10% in Alaska.

draw.

I'd think Eastwood would help the Libertarians a bit, maybe bringing them up to 3% nationally and over 10% in Alaska.
