In the closely contested 1968 Presidential election between former Vice President Nixon and Vice President Humphrey, did Nixon sabotage the Vietnam peace talks in order to gain the upper hand in the election?

Please discuss.

He definitely tried to undermine Johnson's capacity to exectue a deal.

He sure did. Let's also not forget Anna Chennault, she played a very big part in the sabotage of the peace talks. She made an impression on Thieu that's for sure.

It's not even a debate any more; more an established fact. (Though how big an Impact Nixon and one of his leading agents on the ground - one H. Kissinger - had on the actual proceedings can be disputed. What is inarguable is that Nixon wanted to prolong the war so that he would win the election.)

Oh, yes, of course.  And Reagan cut a deal with Iran and the Republicans staged 9/11.

The evidence certainly seems strong that he tried, although how much effect his maneuvers actually had on them is a question that will probably never be answered. Of course it's also true, to be fair, that LBJ tried to manipulate them, and the conduct of the war in general, in such a way as to help Humphrey get elected.

Reagan probably did attempt to steal a page from Nixon's book in 1980.

Lee Hamilton, not exactly a partisan Republican called the witnesses of the of a Reagan plan, "wholesale fabricators or were impeached by documentary evidence."  Even the Village Voice dismissed it, after an investigative report.

Yes to the first, possibly to the second, definitely not to the third.
