Most people don't get science, but most of them are smart enough to not post on Twitter like they DO know science.

(but really, isn't knowing that moon causes tides like something everybody should know....especially if you live near the coast, which is pretty much everybody in the UK right?  I'm guessing this guy graduated from University?  I don't know if I'd want to send my kids wherever he went)

This was the best tweet on the matter. I like Carswell but right now I'm really glad that Diane James is at the helm. Perhaps Al can explain to me why I'm probably wrong to be thinking that.

Er, this weird incident aside, Carswell is one of the least 'Trumpist' UKIPers in general - big critic of Farage etc. Quite easy to see him as a NeverTrumper.
