Possibly, with the Conservatives not touching 37-40% territory in polls it seems more likely than it did before.

....Its a distinct possibility. The Cons seem to have hit a rough spot in the latest polls and now I have seen polls that are 33-30-20-15-x. The cons seem to be a permanent minority that only gets to have Harper in (Who I heard is secretly as conservative as Bush) because the center-left has three major parties, not one.

Oh, for a minute I thought this was a bump of my identical thread from some time ago.

In any case, it's odd to see EarlAW changing his tune. Wink

However looking at Canadian politics everything seems to be going Harper's way.

Or politics anywhere else for that matter. Yet at the same time very little changes in a year, even in Canada. Depends on how thee looks at things.

I don't like Harper, but the economy seems to be doing so good in Canada right now, especially in regards to the "Loonie", that I can't see him being defeated unless the Liberals get a better candidate.

Oh wait, there is a better candidate. His name is Justin Trudeau.

When will the retarded obsession with Trudeau stop? What has he done except being the son of PET? Nothing. Now let's stop the Trudeau obsession, thank you.

I don't have an obsession with him. To be honest, I never heard of him until Earl mentioned him in this thread.

And being the son of one of the greatest Prime Ministers is an important qualification. Maybe it shouldn't be, but it is.

All this 'son of' thing is entirely bullsh**t.

ftr, I never said anything good about Justin Trudeau, just that he's the party's likely next leader.

What about Michael Ignatieff?

Also having just wikied I see that Trudeau isn't even an MP yet.. and his would be riding isn't even a liberal hold; unless having the surname "Trudeau" gets you a massive boost in Montreal.

Ignatieff is never going to be able to win the nomination; he's too unpopular with too much of the Liberal Party. Thus we saw the rally around Dion in the nomination, and Ignatieff barely increased his delegate count despite being first in every previous round.

Gerard Kennedy was the real hope for the Liberals, but he botched his chances at the leadership in the future by supporting Dion when Kennedy came in fourth.

It probably will.

Verily is right about Ignatieff. Just like Bob Rae, he had a ceiling he couldn't get across. The leadership of the Liberal Party came down to Dion vs. Kennedy. Which ever one could finish third was going to get the leadership.

don't you know? The Liberals would never "elect" a woman as their leader.

You're right about Celine; she's not related to anybody with a musical bone in their genetic makeup.
