Why do the Republicans want to run on the platform of the success in Iraq when there hasn't been any?  The Republicans misled us into war and their still lying.  What's their problem?  Don't they understand that like 60%-70% of the American people disagree with this war?

As a bumper sticker says "Bush lied, people died."  Ron Paul has it right when he says "We're not the Policeman of the world."

The bumper sticker actually said "When Clinton lied nobody died".  Much catchier :-D

This question reminds me of something I wrote (somewhere else) shortly before the 2004 election:

". . . can anyone explain to me how foreign policy came to be regarded as Bush's strength? In 2000, it was regarded as his major weakness, because he had no experience. Since then, the worst terrorist attack in history happened on American soil under his watch. His main response was to attack a country that had nothing to do with it. We had the goodwill of almost the entire world after 9/11, and he squandered it with his bullheaded, arrogant policies. Now foreign policy is supposed to be his strong suit.

"Bush running on the war on terror is like Carter running on Iran. It makes no sense."

Because it's the primary and their base are still pro-war kool-aid drinkers. Now let's see what they pull in the general. Won't be easy.
