Bad news for the Republicans here -- currently their only candidate is Mike Protack, an airline pilot. Unless Bill Lee mounts another campaign, this is going to be an easy hold for the Democrats.

And right after this happens, shockingly, 2000 nominee Dave Burris (who lost to Minner by 20 points) and State House Speaker Terry Spence are entering the exploratory stage. These guys aren't first-tier candidates, but they'd do a heck of a lot better than Protack would.

One thing to note -- Spence represents a Dem-leaning district in the State House. Democrats only need to pick up two seats to take the House in Delaware. If he runs, he's probably handing his seat over to the Democrats.
