To be fair, I think a Hillary presidency would be the best thing that could happen to the Republican party. She'd inherit all of Bush's problems and the likely upcoming recession, she'd fight with congress [the Republicans would filibuster everything] and the Republicans would likely make big gains in the midterms. Then she's defeated in a landslide by a Republican opponent who promises "change from the status quo" in 2012.
Yes, I understand we are four years away from 2012 and the political atmosphere could change, but at least to me, the above scenario does not seem all that farfetched at this time.
So anyway, if Democrats think the above is likely to happen as well, is it any wonder so many of them would be cautious to support Hillary in the first place?
