Referring to the overpriced sugary energy drink.

Some countries ban it because of the high caffeine content (equivelant to roughly one cup of good coffee).

It smells horrible and I've had it spilled on me several times so I lean towards banning it.

If the caffeine count was so high it could kill a healthy 10 year old girl, then yeah, it should only be sold in liquor stores.  Nothing edible should be banned.

I agree that it's disgusting tasting. That's no reason to ban it though.

It's actually one of the better tasting energy drinks I've had -- though that's not saying much at all.

No, it would be stupid to ban it.

It kept me going in the field during maneuvers but at the same time it's something children shouldn't be drinking.

No, absolutely not. I would be dead without it, as would many other college students.

There's a common misconception that Redbull has as much caffine as 5 or 10 cups of coffee, but that's absolutely false. IIRC, it has about as much caffine as a shot of espresso, or about as much as 2 normal cups of coffee. Its other active ingredient, taurine,  aids concentration.

I've read about a couple of people dying from it but I guess those were freak accidents.

No, it shouldn't be banned.

If high concentrations of caffeine from one serving of Red Bull can kill somebody, then legislation should be passed regulating the caffeine content of synthetic drinks.  Singling out Red Bull would be a bit over the top.

Speaking of coffee.. I'm gonna go make some.

You mean you didn't use the small bottles of hot sauce in MREs?

Actually, a single 8.3 oz can contains 80mg of caffiene, which is comparable to a light cup of coffee (caffiene content of coffee: 80-130mg for a 6 oz cup)

Agreed. Based on that logic, we should also ban Marmite. Actually, wait a second...

I like the taste of Red Bull, both regular and sugar-free. But I stopped drinking it because of the carbonation.

One of its active ingredient is AIDS concentration?

Well damn, no wonder people want to ban it!

No. Though, I will say this much:

I work at the gas station nearest to my house. So many kids, some no older than 11 are purchasing these damned things. Parents should really step and at least control their overly caffinated crack heads. So many hyperactive kiddos.
