Obama will wiin most of those with exception of Michigan and Texas.  I think he will also get Maryland, Illinois, Idaho, and Wisconsin.

It's funny to think Obama can't even claim favorite son status in IL since Hillary was born and raised there.

How did Jackson win Alaska (or even Vermont for that matter)?

if i remember correctly, vermont had both a primary and caucus that year.  jackson won the caucus.  i think dukakis won the primary.

Yes, Obama will win more for these reasons:

1.  Obama has much broader support.

2.  Obama, as a Senator, has a bit more credibility.

3.  I think that African Americans make up more of the Democratic Party than they did in 1988.

Could win more, could win less... the result from SC and how it's spun will be important.

The way in which the Obama and Clinton campaigns adapt to a national campaign over the ten day run up to Feb 5 will also be important... at the very least it might see race take a back seat after the racially defined contests in NV and SC. 

There are a number of states where Obama could win on Feb 5 (and beyond that if he can remain competative), of course he could do 'badly' in SC and see himself edged out nation wide... all in all it's too soon to tell.
