More Democratic absentee ballots have been issued than Republican ballots, which hasn't occurred in years.

If we can somehow get higher turnout than the GOP in South Carolina... hoo boy, November will be fun.

What is to prevent voters who voted last week in SC in the GOP primary in SC, to vote today in the Dem SC primary?

After 2004, the networks reformed their practices to make it harder for exit polls to leak in the middle of the day.  Now, there are usually never any exit poll leaks until at least after 5pm Eastern, though of course that's coming up in less than an hour.

Yay!!!! Higher turnout can only help Obama, but it will hurt Edwards, which is sad.

Ya, but what prevents cheating?  Or are the same precincts used, and you are crossed off the list if you voted last week?

Since the primaries are run by the parties themselves, I kind of doubt they're sharing information. My guess is just the threat of if you're caught you go to jail.

I kind of doubt very many people are going to risk it.

I doubt anyone would like to watch the Super Bowl or Super Tuesday from the slammer.

Obama can't afford anything less than having this one called for him the moment the polls close.

The networks probably won't do that, even if it is a blowout.

Agreed, they want to keep viewers in for as long as possible.

The networks didn't call uncommitted vs. Clinton in Michigan.  They aren't calling this one upfront and, if they do, it's going to be the surprise of the primary reason.  Probably would even eclipse NH.

I heard Charleston might help Edwards.

Obama is apparently concentrating on the Pee Dee region, while Edwards has been focusing his efforts upstate (although some SC folks think he could do well in the Coastal regions as well).

Moore beat Sanford by 26 points in Marlboro. Would it be accurate to infer that this county is majority black?

No. There is nothing preventing independents from voting in both primaries.
