Reps. Jim Oberstar (D-Minn.) and Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president Friday, adding two more House endorsements to the quickly rising total of the Illinois Democrat.

That's two more superdelegates in Obama's camp. I hope this keeps up.

The Mexican American Political Association (MAPA), a political-civic organization with origins dating back to the Kennedy administration, has endorsed Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses. No endorsement was made for any of the Republican Party candidates.

Wow, that's sort of unexpected (?).

Not after the El Piolin broadcast with Ted Kennedy.

Greg Nickels, mayor of Seattle, endorses Obama. This will matter if Feb 5 is not decisive as Washington is only four days later.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT) to endorse Obama:

That makes 3/4 of Connecticut's Democratic congressmen.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT) to endorse Obama:

And another superdelegate for Obama. I believe that makes it 105 for Obama against 189 for Clinton. The gap is closing!

He tried to pass a lot of strip club regulations including banning lapdances. Luckily strip club owners mobilized, managed to get a ballot initiative on them, and the city voted to block them by a wide margin.

I note that my old Congressional Rep. Gene Green today endorsed Hillary Clinton (he had endorsed Bill Richardson previously).

http://blogs.chron.com/txpotomac/2008/02/rep_gene_green_endorses_hillar.html

Anecdotally, my parents, who still work in the Hispanic community down in that CD, have yet to meet a person who supports Obama, FWIW.

Well, if Clinton wins... she could do well in the west by the virtue of the Hispanic populations. Southern Colorado, Northern New Mexico and Las Vegas should be easy Clinton.

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker also has endorsed Obama.

Interesting...not that many people these days remember the guy.

But if I were a Democrat, that's the sort of endorsement that might tip me into Obama's camp.

The Mexican American Political Association (MAPA), a political-civic organization with origins dating back to the Kennedy administration, has endorsed Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses. No endorsement was made for any of the Republican Party candidates.

Many political observers and opinion leaders believe that the Latino vote will play a critical role in both the primary and general elections. With less than a week to go before Super Tuesday and tomorrow’s presidential debate here in Los Angeles, MAPA’s endorsement could add to Senator Obama’s “Big Mo” and put him over the top.

Interesting.

If Obama actually can slice into the Hispanic vote in California, he might actually have some semblance of a chance, despite Clinton's apparent big advantage from all the early voting that has occurred.

The endorsements of Rosa DeLauro and John Larson will be very useful for Obama in Connecticut.  For some reason I would they would have swung to Clinton, particularly DeLauro, but apparently not.

Have the following endorsed anyone yet?

Senator Jim Webb of Virginia
Congressman Gene Taylor of Mississippi
Congressman John Tanner of Tennessee
Congressman David Boren of Oklahoma
Senator Ken Salazar of Colorado
Senator Jon Tester of Montana
Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota

No on all, but I don't even see Boren on any of the lists.

Add Rep. Earl Blumenaur [D-OR] to the list. And the LA Times [I think that was covered tho].

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer should also be added to the Obama list.
