The Mexican American Political Association (MAPA), a political-civic organization with origins dating back to the Kennedy administration, has endorsed Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses. No endorsement was made for any of the Republican Party candidates.

Many political observers and opinion leaders believe that the Latino vote will play a critical role in both the primary and general elections. With less than a week to go before Super Tuesday and tomorrow’s presidential debate here in Los Angeles, MAPA’s endorsement could add to Senator Obama’s “Big Mo” and put him over the top.

The super delegates are starting to break in the right direction.  Today, Congressman Brian Baird of Washington's 3rd Congressional District endorsed Barack Obama

And they generally fit the Clinton demographic. They are big on grass roots campaigning, though.

I think they require a super-majority of members to endorse a candidate and apparently Obama got it.
