Iowa

Florida has too many hurricanes for my liking.

I'd rather deal with Iowa tornadoes and blizzards than Florida hurricanes.

I guess I'll have to vote Florida.  Shame really, as I sorta prefer Iowa.

Florida. Yes overall the state sucks but like any big state you can find your own piece of paradise. Iowa on the other hand is just plain nothingness. no offense.

I can't think of any reason to like either. The only hills in Florida were landfills and there was just too much development. Florida is too bleh and gucky. Iowa seems nice and a place with character although the lack of hills would also bore me. I'm picky; I need my hills, lakes, ocean, and sun!

Iowa in a heartbeat.  You haven't lived until you've had produce from an Iowa farmstand.  And there are beautiful parts of Iowa... and it is generally very middle class and relatively progressive with lots of uncomfortable mainline protestants who derive great joy out of the everyday, little things in life.. like pulling weeds in a garden or hanging clothes out to dry in a warm breeze... or driving 10 miles under the speed limit on a perfectly straight, flat paved road on a sunny afternoon...

Florida, I could never live in the Upper Midwest.  Too cold.

Why on earth would anyone want to live in Iowa? One medium size city and a bunch of small ones around. In FL, you have Jax, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.

I generally agree with you, though, I would take Jacksonville and the red necks.  Hey, most of the southeastern United States is redneck country.  They can be obnoxious, but also funny.

Aye.  They say there are Red Necks everywhere.  Trash is trash and all that.  But there is something special about the true Red Necks.  They really get into it.  I've been to a handful of NASCAR races (including Talladega), Red Necks know how to party and eat.

I love rednecks. I also love the south and sweet tea. What's so great about a bunch of farm land in Iowa?

Most people in Iowa DON'T live on farms.

Most of the cities in Iowa have strip clubs and emo venues so I'm fine with them. Florida has those too but it also has too much awful crap as well.

Have you seen that farm land though?  Especially northern Iowa?  Wow that's some good farm land.  The soil is so black and rich you could grow anything there.  I could barely grow grass in the sandy soil I had in Florida.

..and sweet tea is for girls. Smiley

Florida.

I'm not stupid enough to make non-political decisions based upon support for Barack Obama, unlike you.

Several feet of black, rich soil... arguably the best farm land on earth.

And I have to agree.. sweet tea is for girls.  Up here in "Yankeeland" we like our iced tea unsweetened, maybe with a bit of lemon.

This has absolutely nothing to do with that. It has to do with Florida being an all around unbearable worthless shthole while Iowa being an unimpressive but livable state.

kind of hypocritical coming from you:

liberals = morons
Europeans = socialists
people who care about the environment = morons who fall for the "hoax"

etc.

Kinda like AHDuke considering Obama elitist whilst he wonders why anyone would prefer Iowa to Florida and not realizing that "what's so great about farm land" is that it, um, I dunno, goes a long way towards making the US a world power?

I suppose he's also shocked that Republicans don't win 100 percent of the vote in every election. He's the Republican version of BRTD, which of course why BRTD hates him so much.

It never ceases to amaze me that those we dislike the most are those who think exactly like us except for different political parties. The same reason why Republicans despise rich liberals the most and Democrats usually hate working class conservatives.

Iowa by far. More rural, more progressive, and colder. Wins on all three counts that matter to me in looking for a place to live.
