Exit polls don't seem to be telling us anything we didn't know already. Maybe. Little details point in different directions. Time to asquith.

So. How much of a difference between the final results and the exit poll will there be?

Other than Massachusetts, I can't think of any other state where the final results were that much different than the exit poll.

Virginia has "form" for this sort of thing. Wouldn't have asked if it didn't (and I wish that it didn't).

Also of note: according to this exit poll, Obama won Catholics 50-49.

Wow.

Virginia's Catholics are largely concentrated in DCsprawlburbia.

Working class, rural-to-small-town, white. Mining towns in the west, old textile towns in the east. One of the strongest areas for non-segregationist candidates back in the bad old days. Marked tendency to vote against what/who the rest of the state votes for. Historically Republican in parts.

3rd is up to 62% counted now. Has that had any effect on the overall numbers?

Probably an hour, but I imagine we'll get a call when polls close.  (Edit: Excluding DC Syndrome)

It would be a weird night where Virginia is called instantly but Maryland isn't.

So polls close in an hour?

West Virginia is probably the most racist state in the country, and they also hate youth movements, city people, and pretty much everything else associated with Obama.

I doubt it. Not much point in hating blacks when there aren't any where you live.

You'd be surprised. Very surprised. I would assert that whites in West Virginia are more racist than whites in Alabama or Mississippi.

And I would then call you an idiot.

Wow. Obama won Catholics! He did better among non-college graduates than graduates! He basically tied among whites, crushed with blacks, and...

He won Hispanics.

Clinton is bleeeeeding.

That time of the month again? That's going to make tonight even more painful for her.

Now if I made a racist joke at Obama's expense...

All from Queen Anne's County...a handful of precincts' worth.  Totally meaningless.
