I’m a Libertarian because the Libertarian party most closely reflects my beliefs and views on various issues. These are some of the things I believe in:

Philosophy/beliefs

Individual freedom

Personal responsibility

Capitalism

Federal government should be strictly limited to its constitutionally defined powers.

American business provides goods and services that we all want and need. It provides jobs for most working people and it pays taxes that help to fund the government. Business is a good thing, not an evil thing.

A competitive free market is the best means of providing quality goods and services at the lowest prices.

The constitution means what it says.

Issues

Taxes- Taxes are far too high and should be reduced. Government spending needs to be reduced to make this happen.

Second amendment-

Thomas Jefferson  -  “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

James Madison - “The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”

David S - “You toucha my guns, I shoota you ass.”

Gay marriage- It’s your life. If you want to marry a gay transvestite chimpanzee it’s your business, but don’t expect me to send a wedding gift.

Medical marijuana- If sick people get relief from their illness by smoking pot let them do it.

Drugs- The war on drugs is causing a bigger problem than the drugs. By making drugs illegal we have created a crime bonanza for criminals. We need to rethink our policy on drugs.

Assisted suicide- If you become incurably ill and decide to end your life, it should be up to you. No judge, politician, bureaucrat, or busy body has a right to interfere.

America is not the world’s policeman. If you think it is, show me where it says so in the constitution.

Socialism- Socialism deprives honest people of their money, their property, their rights, and their lives.
