Will she still hold onto her seat?

Maybe? John Kennedy's fundraising has been pretty anemic so far, which is probably the only advantage she has now.

Probably; she'll win by a very narrow margin, 5-10,000 votes.

She's not a politician I would bet against, particularly not in a decent Democratic year.

The situation in Louisiana is going to be fascinating this year.  Not only is there the obviously close race between Landrieu and Kennedy, but there are also the two open-seat contests in LA-4 and LA-6.  I think Landrieu's victory, or rather probably Kennedy's inability to defeat her, may rise from what goes on in these contests.  Of course, if McCain expands Bush's 56%-42% margin from 2004, as he very well may do, Landrieu's situation becomes harder.

I like the idea of the Landrieu family getting another kick in the face. I don't really like the idea of the Republican Party gaining the seat though. Drat.

I hope she survives.  If I understand correctly, doesn't she need to break 50% in the general to avoid a runoff a month later?

Landrieu is a horrible person, but unfortunately she's better than whatever right-wing fascist the Louisiana GOP would put up.

We'll have to tolerate conservative Democrats for the foreseeable future.  And at least they won't vote for Mitch McConnell when caucusing.

4 is going to be vacant. 6 (and 1) have special elections with the primaries on the 8th. I think it's safe to say whoever wins will seek re-election during the regular election.

Not sure about Landrieu and Kennedy yet. Too early to say.
