OOOHHH, I just love it!!!  Cheesy

So how is this going to work- will you be constantly updating the site, all weekend long?

You're missing a few candidates on your lists.  We still (unfortunately) have 57opinions running in 2A, Al hasn't withdrawn from 3B, and Josh22 is running in 4B.

Another (minor) problem with this is, it looks like it only takes first-choice votes into account, and might incorrectly be calling someone a winner.  In spite of that- great job!!!

Exactly.  The second set of numbers shown should be the results of the runoff vote, if there is any- not the number of second preference votes.

Example:
A gets 5 votes, B gets 3 votes, C gets 2 votes.
C gets eliminated, those two voters put B as their second choice.  This results in a tie: A gets 5, B gets 5.

This would be displayed thus:

A- 5 (5)  50%(50%)  WINNER
B- 3 (5)  30%(50%)
C- 2 (0)  20%(0%)

Of course, A ends up winning the tie in this example, due to getting more first preference votes.

Votes are coming in fast and furious...here's where we stand at 10:30 AM.

D1- Handzus26 in the lead with 3 votes.  Keystone Phil has 2 votes, and .Andrew has 1 vote with no second preference listed.

2A- RReagan4EVER leads with 3 votes.  Akno21 has 2 votes, and MAS117 has 1 vote with no second preference listed.

2B- Three-way tie!  Bono, Migrendel and Umengus with 1 vote each.

D3- Texasgurl leads with 4 votes.  Demrepdan has 2.

D4- Harry leads with 3 votes.  Josh22 has 1.

D5- Three-way tie!  Mr. Hobbes, PlatypeanArchcow and StevenNick with 2 votes each.

Pacific Gov/Lt. Gov- Wildcard and King lead with 4 votes for each.  Freedomburns and Lewis Trondheim both have 1 vote.

Southeast Gov- Htmldon has 2 (valid) votes.

Midwest Gov- voting not started yet.

I just noticed I made a mistake in that post.  I edited it.  RReagan4EVER is ahead in 2A.

Actually, I made a few mistakes in that earlier post.  Just ignore that one.  Here's the REAL- and current- results:

D1- Handzus26 in the lead with 3 votes.  Keystone Phil has 2 votes, and .Andrew has 1 vote with no second preference listed.

2A- Akno21 and RReagan4EVER are tied with 3 votes each.  MAS117 has 1 vote with no second preference listed.

2B- Umengus leads with 2 votes.  Bono and Migrendel have 1 vote each.

D3- Texasgurl leads with 5 votes.  Demrepdan has 3.

Update-

D1- Andrew 3, Handzus26 3, Keystone Phil 2.  Neither of the voters for Phil have a second preference, so it remains a tie.

D2A- Akno21 4, RReagan4EVER 3, MAS117 1.

D2B- No change.  Umengus 2, Bono 1, Migrendel 1.

D3- Texasgurl 5, Demerpdan 4.

D4- No change.  Harry 3, Josh22 1.

D5- Mr. Hobbes 3, PlatypeanArchcow and Steven Nick both have 2.
If this were the final result, to determine who gets eliminated first, we examine the race without Mr. Hobbes (by counting his second choices).  This tie-breaking exercise results in: StevenNick 5, PlatypeanArchcow 2.  So PlatypeanArchcow is eliminated.
Final result: Mr. Hobbes 4, StevenNick 3.

Phil and RReagan just got another vote each Fritz......

This brings us to a 3-way tie in D1 (3 votes all) and a 2-way tie between Akno and Reagan in 2A (4 each).

Okay kids, strange situation in district 1.  If this were the final result, I'm not sure how it would be resolved.

Current first preference votes:
Keystone Phil 4
Handzus26 3
.Andrew 3

The question becomes which of Handzus26 or .Andrew to eliminate first.  The way this should be resolved, is to count the second preferences of Phil's voters.  However, only one person who voted for Phil listed a second preference, and that was a write-in vote for himself.

If we eliminate Handzus26, the final result is:
.Andrew 5
Keystone Phil 4
.Andrew wins.

If we eliminate .Andrew, the final result is:
Keystone Phil 5
Handzus26 4
Keystone Phil wins.

My inclination would be to declare Keystone Phil the winner, but we might need to involve the Court.

Not quite.  The person who voted for Al listed Akno as like his 4th preference, for these purposes we could call it second preference.  The person who voted for MAS117 listed no other preferences.  So Akno ends up with 9 votes.

The page isnt totally correct.  It should have 9 for Akno in the final runoff.  It also assumes the NixonNow vote wont count (probably an accurate assumption).

How do you figure?

Actually you would win the tie, since all 9 of your votes (counting NixonNows) were first preference, and only 8 of Akno's were.  If Ben had put down Akno as his first preference, it would be an unbreakable tie.
