AS Of Today, I officially withdraw from this Senate race seeing I have virtually no support. I endorse Bono for the Senate Seat held now by retiring Boss tweed. Also, after the Election the Atlas Alliance will Fold and I will leave the Northeast for Greener pastures. I will not stop my fight for Reform for all.

How is it best for the forum?  Just because you don't want him running?  I personally would support Justin if he wasn't so outspoken against the Republicans.
The only reason I was so outspoken was the fact that the Republicans had endorsed a far-left candidate. I thought as a betrayal of the conservative ideals.

You were a good candidate,  conservative but not extremist.

As the filing deadline is past, I guess your name will remain on the ballot.
Thanks to preferential voting, your withdrawal wasn't really necessary. It's not increasing Bono's chances really.

Well, the way I see it, the filing deadline applies to getting your name put on the ballot- not having it taken off.  Smiley

You mean we don't have a deadline for withdrawals?

"All candidates must register their name seven days before the election to be placed on the ballot..."  The constitution says nothing about a deadline for having your name removed from the ballot.

I also believe that it doesn't say anything about any requirements for write-in candidacies, so anyone could still do a write-in campaign, but his name just wouldn't appear on the official ballot..

Yes, that's true, anyone still could do a write-in campaign.

I ask all of those who support Bono to vote forme in the second preference So I can stand in as a Republican/Alliance candidate and deny the Dems and UL more votes on second Preference.

You still haven't understood it, have you?
As long as you get fewer first prefs than him, and his voters have a third preference as well, putting you at second changes exactly nothing.

This why I don't like Preferential voting.
