Please don't consider age a factor.  Assume Cronkite or Dan Schorr are in their prime.  I believe all these folks are American-born, but I may have missed one.

I did not put in the more obnoxious pundits on the left and right -- who pimp their own opinions and call it news.  So no Hannity or Limbaugh, O'Reilly or Olbermann, etc.

Go.

Shame, because I would love to see O'Reilly and Olbermann against each other.

If the immigration issue would somehow go away, I would consider supporting Dobbs.

Tom Brokaw, because, simply, Tom Brokaw is America.

I don't agree with some of what he says but I love the guy. I hope he runs for office someday.

I have never heard of Dan Schnor or Diane Reims.

If Olberman is to be excluded from your list, then Brit Hume and Chris Wallace don't belong on there either.

I sincerely struggled with that.  I just tried to avoid pundits and commentators.  Though you are certainly correct.  Hume and Wallace both inject comment and opinion in places, without admitting as much.  I love Olbermann, but like Limbaugh -- he is pretty open and honest that his entire show is commentary.

For those who don't know, Dan Schorr is 91 years old and has been with CBS and other networks.  He is now a commentator with NPR.  Brilliant guy.  Diane Rehm hosts her own daily talk show on NPR and she is one of the best interviewers ever.  Hard to listen to, because she has a voice ailment.  But unfailingly civil and fair to all sides.

For me, it's gotta be a Moyers-Rehm or Moyers-Krugman ticket!

One of my favorite conservatives.  I also respect George Will.  And I really enjoy Pat Buchanan, mostly because he seems to be having more fun that ever.

I seldom agree with these guys, but I find them reasonably courteous to the other side and intelligent.

Paul Krugman probably would make a good president.

Surely none, but when forced to think about it...

Hume, Stossel, Brokaw are fellows with character, but the man probably most qualified, even if he scares the pants off you....
