Battle of the Countries
«
on:
February 20, 2008, 08:33:41 pm »
This is a cheap ripoff of Battle of the States.
In the first round, the 192 UN members will be grouped alphabetically into 24 groups of 8. The top country in each round will advance to the second round, along with 8 of the second place finishers, as determined in a runoff round. It'll be single-elimination thence onward.

I messed it up the day before, and let voting go on for 36 hours, so I limited this one to 12.

Having the US in the process at all renders the entire thing moot.

The way I vote in these is to decide which of the countries do I most want to visit.
I think the UK will get knocked out in the first round!

I'll probably vote for UK. I plan on studying abroad either there or in Japan.

What's with the sudden surge in support? I've seen an ungodly number of BotC threads bumped up in the past few hours.
