Hart, easily. Not that he would have done that great, but did people really think Mondale would have anything higher than a 0% chance at beating Reagan?

I voted for Hart, even though I like Mondale more.

biden did not run.  he had the papers signed and ready to go, but backed out at the last minute.  pat caddell was the one urging him to run.

1984 was an awful cast of democrats.

i think askew ran basically on his anti-abortion views.

mondale was and is a decent person, but a complete whore to the labor unions.

hart.  ugh.

ive always found fritz hollings to be an absolutely repulsive individual.

glenn was an awful campaigner.

i respect eagleton...but he wasnt presidential material.

i dont think i can vote for any of these jokers.

Hart had some superb platform ideas, but I like Glenn better. I'm torn.

As much respect as I have for Walter Mondale, who I think would have made a great President, I still would have voted for my political hero: George McGovern.

I voted Gary Hart for this one, with hindsight. But at the time there's a good chance I would have voted for McGovern.

I heard recently that the only reason Mondale got the nomination was because of super-delegates.

Joe Biden.  No surprises here, but my second choice would be Gary Hart.

Wait, McGovern actually ran again in '84?  Sounds like a good vote then.

Mondale

I have to support a fellow Minnesotan for the president.

I was a Reagan man then.  But if I could go back, I'd probably have voted for Mondale all through the Primary.  I didn't realize Biden ran in 84.  I knew he ran in 88.
