I actually agree with J.J's map. McGovern wouldn't win Minnesota had he been the nominee in 1984. If Monald can only win his homestate by 0.18% over Reagan, I highly doubt that George McGovern could do that.

50 state lockout, obviously. Reagan easily over 60%, probably heading towards two-thirds. By '84 McGovern was a washed-up joke; J.J's map is actually being too kind to him.

mcgovern was never a serious candidate for the nomination in 1984  (think: kucinich in 2004 and 2008)

but if he somehow got the nomination, hed win dc and lose the 50 states.

Sadly, most of the maps here are close to the truth. In the mid-80s, America would have much preferred to have a half-witted, pseudo-cowboy over a truly honest man. Oh well, so be it.
