Of course, as many know... Hurricane Charley hit near Port Charlotte, FL on August 13, 2004 at around 4:00pm EDT.

Max winds at landfall were 145 mph and a pressure of 941 MB. Damage is estimated at 15-20 billion dollars.

 I have many friends in Florida. They are low on ice and supplies. As governor, I will work hard to keep the public updated on hurricanes.

I will help send EVEN MORE relief to hurricane battered areas in Florida. Hurricane Season 2004 is not even at it's peak. Thank you, and god bless.
