I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

People are voting for something other than South Korea because...
Granted, Latvia's a democracy as well, but South Korea has the indisputably stronger economy.

Latvia. By default - though some of those countries I suspect I would prefer if I knew a bit more about them. Not South Korea.

I'm going with the famously laidback place carpetbombed by America in the 70s.

I'm voting Kyrgyzstan cause it's probably the only place on this list that doesn't have mass emigration.
If Latvia was such a great place for example, then it's population wouldn't be moving en masse to Britain. (South Korea to the U.S., Liberia to the U.S., Lesotho to South Africa, etc.)

There is a significant migaration from Kyrgyzstan to Russia. And emigration is not only about how rich is a country, but how rich is with comparison of its neighbours and how easy it is to emigrate. Lithuania is among the richest of the former Soviet Union republics ( and certainly more than Kyrgyzstan) , but it's one of the poorest in the EU and emigration is easy, so there is a high emigration ratw
