OK, who was the lucky/unlucky poster that lived/lives in a precinct where a third party candidate won?

My 1-precinct town:

Bush 803 (49.48%)
Kerry 798 (49.17%)
Nader (running under the designation "A Better Life") 15 (0.92%)
Cobb (with Mainer Pat Lamarche as his running-mate) 6 (0.37%)
Badnarik 1 (0.06%) (I have a couple ideas as to whom that voter might have been)
Peroutka 0 (0.00%)
Others (valid write-in votes) 0 (0.00%)

Total: 1,693

I assume that counts as "Bush victory below 49%"

Kerry 75-100%, somewhere around 90%. Unfortunately, our County Clerk appears to have taken down the 2004 election results from her website. It's Englewood Ward 3, District 2 if someone can find a source other than the County Clerk.

Yeah, well Newton went for Obama by 520 votes! It was so funny! You just have to know some of the ridiculous people that live here. One man kept his Saxby U.S. Senate sign up until May! I guess to protest Obama! Wink

Town of Oyster Bay A.D 12 E.D 68

Bush 52.23-46.07,  a bit of a 9/11 bounce in 2000 it was Gore 51.75-43.07 with Nader getting 3.51.

Current voter registration
38.81% GOP, 32.62% Dem, 28.57% Ind/3rd

Updated for this year

Thought Obama would have done better and won,  but when looking at how Obama did in other heavily Italian areas, guess I'm not that surprised.

McCain 53.56-46.44

Current voter registration
37.92% GOP, 33.79% Dem, 28.29% Ind/3rd

Sounds like a nice county.

We also have our first African American Sheriff, Ezell Brown (D), and our first Woman County Commission Chairman, Kathy Morgan (D).

2000: 62k people
2008 (est) 99k people
growth: 59%

2000: 75% White, 22% Black
2008 (est) 59% White, 35% Black

growth of White population: about 25%
growth of Black population: about 133%

Not that it's getting ghetto or anything. All but the outer fringes of the southern 40% or so of the Atlanta Metro is Black, and Newton is ceasing to be outer fringes.

Seems the town where you live is still full of outer suburban Whites.

EDIT: Of course, that's assuming the 2008 results are similar. Just noticed this is for 2004.

37.92% GOP, 33.79% Dem, 28.29% Ind/3rd

Updated for new place, fact finder says this is my current precinct, though they have it based off the 2000 districts, prior to redistricting.  I don't think redistricting changed the number of the precinct so its probably correct.  A little more GOP than my previous one

Oyster Bay A.D 12 E.D 15

2000 Bush 48.59-47.94 with Nader at 2.82%
2004 Bush 56.39-42.63
2008 McCain 54.32-44.84

current registration 45.45% GOP, 25.97% Dem, 28.57% Ind/3rd

Though wrong board for this one thing I find a tad interesting, is despite the GOP having a 13 point larger registration advantage in my new precinct than my old one the difference in the 08 results between the two precincts is less than 3 points, the difference was about 8 points in 04 and 10 points in 2000.

Based on every single >70 Bush area I've been to, I'm not sure I'd brag about that.  At least '04.
