ID-2, probably. Maybe one of the CDs in Utah, Wyoming AL, Montana AL, or even one in NYC.

Is there a list somewhere?

I grew up pretty close to East St.Louis.  I've driven through some nasty poor parts of the Deep South.  There are chunks of southern Iowa that are pretty stinking poor too.

ID-2 isn't poor at all, compared to one in Wyoming or NYC. It might look poor on the outside, but it is fine in actuality.

It looks like NY16 has the highest poverty rate.  It's in the Bronx.

Look at the percentages for the Democrat.

I've been there.

LOL. Evilmexicandicator is correct about ID-2 but he's wrong about Wyoming, which actually has a higher median income than ID-2 and is pretty close to the national average. Utah is not in any way even remotely poor, every district in it has a higher median income than the national average.

IN-7 is the poorest congressional district I've been in in the past few years.

I don't spend a lot of time thinking about things like this. I'm not sure it's very healthy.

I guess MI's 13th (Detroit) is the poorest CD I've been in.  It's the 4th poorest as of 2006.

Funny.  The poorest district in the nation votes consistently 95% Democrat.  Why is that not suprising?  It's obviously working so well for them!

Ahh, the fighting 16th!  The birthplace of rap, home of the fine working women of Hunt's Point, the HQ of the Evil Empire and home to some uncomfortable polar bears.  I haven't been there in a while.  There are some neat examples of urban decay-.

I would be willing to subsidize BRTD an apartment in some of these areas as a social experiment.  I always was a fan of Mortimer Duke:)

MS-2 is really poor and crappy. Don't know for certain that it's the poorest though.

Oooops. I forgot Wyoming only had one. Some parts of Wyoming(mining areas) are pretty poor actually, but other than that it is fine.

Al would know more about this than me but of recent visits I would probably guess Great Grimsby.

EDIT: Interesting stuff from that posted chart.. Tom Tancredo's district contains the highest % of people with High School qualifications of them all. Apparently.

Hard to say because "poor" means different things to different people. But I've been in every constituency in Wales at least once (sometimes just travelling through). Ditto County Durham. Also been in (though mostly travelling through) most of the constituencies on the Yorkshire coalfield.
On the other hand, I've also been to quite a few inner-city areas over the years.

In otherwords, I don't really know.

Lewis wins though.

How should I know? I don't keep track of every congressional district I've ever visited.
