Well here we are folks. The finals. Let's take a look at yesterday's results

Montana 21 (52.5%)
Vermont 19 (47.5%)

Total Voters: 40

WTF 40 votes? Good God. I hope th final match can break even that. So for this tournament, Montana gets the bronze medal while Vermont gets fourth place. Still great for both of them. But I don't believe there is a medal for fourth place. Sorry Vermont. This also shows that Montana is slightly stronger. Good news for Washington which beat Montana by about 2% less than Colorado beat Vermont. So if we were to extrapolate to predict the outcome of today's match, it would be essentially tied. (Depending on whether or not I have anything better to do, I may calculate extrapolated standings for all the states and show them in the final topic tomorrow. Or maybe not, does anyone care about the extrapolated standings? Probably not).

Washington's Trail to the Finals

Washington has been a beast this whole contest. It blew away Montana + Idaho + Oregon with over 60%, beat Maine with over 70%, nearly doubled Virginia, beat California with over 60% and finally beat Montana with just under 60%. Of course, this was super-powered Montana.

Colorado's Trail to the Finals

After a low-scoring disappointing Round 1 win over New Mexico + Arizona + Utah, Colorado rebounded by setting a new record over Missouri with exactly 80%. Then it squashed New York, a juggernaut with just under 60%. It then nearly scored 70% on Massachusetts followed by a good Final Four win over Vermont with almost 60%. After Round 3, it was almost obvious these two states would be the finalists.

I have no more words to say. Let us begin the final match of this tournament. Yes, there will be cake when this all said and done.

Bracket is here

Not that it really matters, because good luck finding a beach there.  Hmmmm... this is a tough one, as I like both.  I think I have to go with Washington though, simply because if you live near the coast you don't have to really deal with snow.

Eh, not a huge fan of either but I guess I have to go with Colorado. Washington is too damp and rainy.

There are beaches in Washington. Granted the water is extremely cold but still there are beaches with sand, umbrellas and the works. Great places for flying kites (once when I was about 6 I was flying a kite at the beach and the wind was so strong the kite lifted me about a foot off the ground before I got the sense to let go).

Anyways I think it is obvious who I would vote for here, like Angry Weasel said Washington is like Colorado by the sea.

Vermont would have gotten my vote yesterday but of course I missed out on voting Sad. So I shall cast my vote for Washington State. Home of Gary Locke. Does he remind me of Melbourne's Mayor John So. Hehe
