Conducted by GOP-friendly firm Ayres, McHenry & Associates for Lamar Alexander:

The latest survey of 600 registered Tennessee voters was taken March 5-9.

Those surveyed were also asked about the presidential race. The results indicate that John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, would carry Tennessee over either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

Against Clinton, the McCain lead was pegged at 51 percent to 43 percent; against Obama, 53 percent to 36 percent.

"John McCain's favorable to unfavorable rating today in Tennessee is 59 to 34 percent, compared to 44 to 54 percent for President Bush," Ayers says in the memo. "McCain's presence atop the Republican ticket is clearly a boost for Republicans in Tennessee."

Ehhh.... Tennessee should go more or less the same way it did 2008. They are pushing to the right by the day, but 2008 will throw that off a bit.

Obama won't get 42% in Tennessee like Kerry did. 40% for him at best.

Exactly.  It is ridiculous to say that Obama would even get 40% in TN. Smiley

I don't believe there are 40% of Tennesseans who would vote for a man who has an anti-white racist bigot as his spiritual leader.
