No he wasn't.  The majority of evidence places his origins in Britain.

None of the above.  I am wearing a green-ish shirt since it was the one I grabbed in the dark this morning while getting dressed.  However, since I am not Catholic, I would not intentionally wear green for St. Patricks Day ... I would wear Orange in honor of my Irish ancestors.  However, I don't own any orange dress shirts (normal).

Well okay I guess, but I honestly don't know where the idea of him being Greek came from...  Undecided

St. Patrick's Day was March 15 this year so it wouldn't be during Holy Week...

Most people, perhaps.  My own idiocy extends as far as the limits of this forum.

I intend to have a few drinks tonight (key word: few).  You of all people can't begrudge me that.  And you can be assured that it won't be green, because the idea of that is just disgusting.

no youre american.  you live in south boston and probably wouldnt know the first thing about ireland.

While the first part is true, I hope I have your permission to celebrate my heritage.  My avatar is in honor of the first state that my paternal ancestors called their home.  And I've actually visited Ireland twice.

I am wearing green though it's somewhat coincidental to it being St. Patrick's Day - but then the whole wearing green thing seems to be an American thing anyway. I doubt anyone's going to question my Irishness one way or the other.

Not going to get wasted - not my thing really.

Oh and as to St. Patrick's origins - he's generally believed to have been from somewhere along the west British coast originally, anywhere from Wales to Hadrian's Wall.
