I think Utah should secede from the US for two reasons: so that there can be more religious freedom (since US bans polygamy), and because I'm not sure we want Utah as part of our country.

If the South had won the Civil War, slavery would have ended soon anyway, and race relations would probably be better than they are currently in the South.

Whether or not you're a Civil War history nut is irrelevant. Slavery was a dying trade during the 1850s-1860s. Heck, several states were even willing to give it up before the war. And if the South had won, there would have never been a KKK, and possibly never Jim Crow laws. Northern Reconstructionists just stirred up hatred for blacks which would have probably not have been nearly as extreme if they had just kept out of everything anyway.

Oh yes but Slavery was not going to be banned until the 1880's or 90's when Europe would put pressure on the South. I also think that little would change with them being free, pretty much a South Africa race system. Maybe Socialism would be become popular with Blacks, and they would have a revolution or riot, also making Race relations bad(I am talking Great Depression times it could have been).
Overall I think it is possible that with foriegn intervention a good lot of Racist laws and stuff would have been ended by the 1980's or 90's, but the sentiment against Blacks would still be rooted in the National culture, and I am sure rich White Aristocrats in the 1870's and 80's would love to shove super Pro-Slavery literature down the throats of what were "Scalawags" during Reconstruction.

I don't think so. A large portion of Southern racism was rooted in hatred for blacks because of Reconstruction. Slavery would have easily ended by 1880, and the people would have had fewer problems with the free blacks, as they were causing less trouble for the white Plantation owners and would be less likely to ally with Northerners and Northern sympathizers. People would have seen each other more sympathetically, instead of the whole "blacks took away our pride and freedom"  thing that they were in to because of the support among blacks for Yankees.

I would be far more satisfied to just drop black history month and began treating colored people as though they are truly equal and not in need of official preferential treatment. As someone else said, if one month is black history month, than that makes 11 months white asshole month.
