No way is McCain beating Obama. Minnesota was polled going for Obama by 15 points 2 months ago. I doubt that much of the state switched on him.

Not that I agree with the poll, but not that I disagree - I'd like to see 1 more at least poll, but in the poll's defense, McCain led originally, and the change has been gradual.

Strangely, you don't buy any poll that has Obama losing.

In MN or MA, no.

Hillary's numbers have remained stable throughout SUSA's polls, Obama's have taken a hit. So either some old people reacted to the old news Wright scandal, or the sample was bad.

The main reason why I'm so confident McCain will not win here: He has no real appeal. On what issues does McCain fit well with Minnesota?

McCain won't win because BRTD says so. That's my analysis.

I think the Dems tearing each other apart makes him seem like someone who is more capable of steady leadership and uniting the country. Obama doesn't have a monopoly on that, you know.

But the two biggest issues here will likely be the war (in a rather dovish state) and concerns over the economy, which isn't doing great here currently. Mr. 100 Years and "I don't get the economy" isn't going to do too well on those.

I'll believe McCain takes Minnesota when he is able to produce a nationwide sweep carrying a ridiculous amount of states. Other than that....no not a chance.

That is a stupid reason. Its like saying, McCain will loose Idaho because Obama will make it seem like McCain is an old retard who knows nothing and he will unite the country.

As I said above, McCain's biggest problem is he isn't going to appeal to this particularly dovish state on the war and the Upper Midwest always goes with Democrats if the issue is the economy. Same deal as Iowa actually.

LOL

Except Minnesota is at least somewhat of a swing state and Idaho is a safe state? Yeah, thanks.

Okay replace it with North Carolina or Kentucky.

...and my point still stands. They aren't super safe GOP states but they certainly aren't swing states.
