What did you think of my other decision?  Should a vote for "RReagan117" be counted as a vote for RReagan4EVER?

In both cases, I did what I thought was right.  Also in both cases, my decision favors a candidate that I oppose.  I'm not Katherine Harris, I do whats right, even if it hurts the candidate I support.

I think both of these remain open to court challenges, however, if the disputed vote ends up deciding the outcome.

LOL, well...you and I are probably going to disagree on the doings of Florida.  Attempting to recount ballots of four special, magical [hugely Democratic] counties--but failing to do so for the rest of the State (in an at-large election) was purely wrong, and the Gore machine failed to acknowledge that in time to save his chances of the nation backing him as a legitimate president.  Recounting the entire state's ballots was an afterthought for the Democrats that was weeks into the ordeal--and that was just too damn late for the bulk of Americans to think he was the one "trying to be [the most] fair."  So in this case, the Florida election machinery sticking to the system precedents was in fact equal protection under the law for all Florida voters, not merely backing the Party candidate.

The NixonNow vote I'm less inclined to count, personally; as it's been pointed out: the name given is a fusion of two names.  He should be swayed into deleting it and voting correctly so that both of the questionable ballots are under the same legal question.

The Court will hear testimony regarding this case soon.  I have posted the official thread in the Government forum.

Run-off voting has created ties in 1B and 2B Shocked

In both cases, the tie is resolved by counting first preference votes only of the candidates involved in the tie.

I'm surprised with how low the voter turnout is in district 2b. Only 6 votes have come from there.

But I'm glad that Bono is winning! Smiley

Secretary Fritz, I'm currently on AIM and was wondering if I could have a moment of your time?  If you're occupied I understand completely.

Thank you!

In a surprising move that I did not expect, President Gustaf has voted for PBrunsel for Midwest Governor!  This brings PBrunsels lead to 4-2, and virtually assures his victory.

You were right on this one, Phil!

I never ever expected President Gustaf to vote for PBrunsel. I think we can start calling him Governor Elect now Tongue but I'll hold off until voting officially ends.

Latest Updates- lots of ties happening:

1B- Handzus 6, .Andrew 5, Keystone Phil 5.
Tiebreaker between .Andrew and Phil: .Andrew 9, Phil 5.  Phil is eliminated.
Final runoff: Handzus 6, .Andrew 5.

On a side note, this is why Hughento is right.  Preferential voting only works if all voters rank all the candidates.

2B- After the runoff, its Bono 5, Migrendel 5.  Bono wins the tie due to having the most first preferences.

2A- If NixonNow's vote is counted for RReagan4EVER, he wins 9-8.  If that vote is disqualified, it is a tie 8-8.

These are the procedures I am following to break ties:

Okay, we'll go with your tiers 1 and 2 then.  Those both use the ballots cast to determine the outcome.

Ok so can we have an official post to lay out exactly what will happen if there is a tie at Noon Today.

Tie Breakers-

Tier 1.  The candidate with more first preference votes wins the tie.

Tier 2.  Every ballot cast in the election is re-examined as a race solely between the two candidates involved in the tie.

If one of the candidates wins Tier 1, and the other candidate wins Tier 2, that becomes a tie requiring a run-off election.

It should be noted that these procedures have never been officially passed into law, and remain open to court challenges.

You are up 6-2 with just around 36minutes left to vote.

So I'd say you've probably won.

And if you do win (I don't want to jinx you) It'll be an honor having you as a fellow Governor!

It says in the mid-west voting booth that voting ends at 12:00pm central time that would be noon

In the Senatorial elections it will end at midnight Eastern Standard Time, in the regional elections I am unsure, it will be stated in the regional constitutions I should imagine.

I congratulate PBrunsel as well, and I wish Gov. Ilikeverin the best of luck in his future endeavors--and look forward to seeing what they are.  His service in office has been commendable.
