How about former Republican Congressman and Senate candidate Rick Lazio running for Governor of New York?

Please discuss.

Judging by the past actions of the NYGOP, apparently not.

The last time I heard of Rick Lazio was.....jesus I cannot even remember.

They were talking about how Obama needs to be careful not to be "Lazio-ed" by Hillary during the campaign a month or two back. By "Lazio-ed" they meant being overly commanding over her and looking down on her, which is what Lazio sort of was when he walked over to Hillary's podium during their debate.

That's the last time I heard him mentioned.

The last time I heard Lazio mentioned was when Mitty suggested he could win his old Congressional seat back.

Lazio actually put up a pretty good fight against Clinton in 2000, considering how Democratic the state is.  I remember early returns on election night actually showing him in the lead and actually thought he would win.

Lazio did manage to get almost 10% than George W. Bush did in New York in 2000.  And Clinton got 5% less than Al Gore - it was a solid but not overwhelming victory and probably the narrowest election a Democrat will win to the Senate in a while statewide.

According to Politics1, Tom Reynolds is considering running for Governor in 2010...

When the guy who thought Lazio could defeat Steve Israel is laughing at you, you really know how insane this prediction is.

Does he have any COH left over from his ill-fated race against Hillary?

Thanks to Senator KBH, federal candidates can now transfer dollars from federal accounts to reserves for non-federal races.

Can non-federal candidates transfer to federal accounts now?

You think people are going to not take ridiculous comments seriously from someone who was dead certain Ken Blackwell would win?

You seemed quite serious in posting he could win his own seat back, and considering your track record with predictions...
