McCain will ride his high for a while but will ultimately crash before the election.. much like Obama has.  Except Obama will have a lot more time (and charisma) to build himself back up by the election.

Today's Gallup tracking poll shows Barack Obama retaking the national lead over Hillary Clinton, after the Jeremiah Wright scandal had badly damaged his numbers and put him behind for nearly a week. Here are today's numbers, compared to yesterday:

It would appear that Obama's big speech on Tuesday, combined with the Bill Richardson endorsement, have gone a long way in fixing his poll numbers for now. But he still has yet to fully recover the six-point lead he had in Gallup a little over a week ago.

Well, over the past 4 years Gallup's record is pretty bad, at least on the state level. I do prefer Rasmussen.

McCain's favorable rating matches the 67% he received in February 2000.

Cheesy I knew the 2000 McCain was back!

Most will eventually vote for their candidate in the end.  I know a lot of people that are saying if their candidate won't win theyll vote for McCain, but Im sure theyll go with the Dem.  It's mainly a way of whining.  "If I dont get to be on my best friend's team, I'm going home!"

It's more of a case of them staying home than actually voting for McCain.  However, I can see where a few would (and do) cross the ticket.
