Alternative Sports History

You could do an alternative political history thread with the point of divergence being a sports event, like What if Gordon Banks had played?  That's an interesting alternative history (with National Conservatives who supported Labour towards the end of a Labour Government rather than National Liberals in real life in the 1930s and the war years who supported the Conservatives) and people should check it out.
