Interestingly, the movement in inner-city Houston in the past 8 years has been towards a rapidly increasing Hispanic population, a slightly increasing white (mainly wealthier) population and a declining black population.  This applies to Lee's CD generally, with the exceptions of the Acres Homes areas and the area to the Northeast (that I always refer to as the Homestead/Tidwell area, but it is called something else I forget). 

Essentially, the blacks are being pushed towards certain suburban areas (towards the Southwest especially), as mainly Hispanics, but also wealthy whites take over.

Al Green's CD is the Houston CD where the black population is much more stable.

But anyway, Lee won't get a serious primary opponent ever.  She is quite too talented a politician, actually.

Jackson Lee committed to Hillary almost a year ago.  Some might say this shows that she honors her commitments instead of sticking her finger in the wind.  I find it pathetic that there is discussion of primarying a congresswoman with a solid progressive record.  And good luck trying to get any Hillary supporters to vote for Obama in the general election with this attitude.
