Support the idea, but not the way it's been implimented.  Don't get me wrong, MLK was a GREAT man, but why only celebrate him?  What about César Chávez?  What about Rosa Parks?  Why celebrate just one man?

César Chávez Day is a state holiday in California and seven other states.  Including Wisconsin, for some reason.

I wouldn't mind a Civil Rights Day (or something less dumbly named than that).  MLK's birthday would be a good day for it.

I wouldn't mind a Civil Rights Day (or something less dumbly named than that).  MLK's birthday would be a good day for it.

But MLD's b-day makes it MLK day, regardless of what you call it then.

Eh, MLK was and is one of the most recognized people behind the civil rights movements. He's a figurehead.

But who was more influential to Hispanics?  Why should Hispanics be left out?
