BTW... I have no clue what you mean when you say that no Mainstream Protestant denomination condemns Catholicism.  I bet I could find a mountain of popular mainstream Protestant writers who openly question if the Pope is the anti-Christ and whether or not the Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon.

Using your standards, that should be good enough.

Aye.  The word "cult" was used in the So.Baptist church I grew up in when talking about Catholics.  I've always assumed most Fundies have a similar take on it.

So.Baptist is the biggest of them all bud.

And I can certainly dig up plenty of books from "respected" Methodist, Presbyterian and Lutheran authors that say the same thing.

Catholics worship Mary and think the Pope is the successor to Jesus.  Everyone knows that.

You know, when both of my parents died, their friends had Mass said for each of them, decades apart.  My mother, while baptized in a Catholic Church, never attended, and converted to the Episcopal Church in her teens (if not younger).  My father, originally Episcopalian, became a Presbyterian minister.

Now, forgive me, but that doesn't seem so exclusive. Roll Eyes

It's also quite ironic that the person who seems to correctly citing Roman Catholic doctrine, isn't Roman Catholic.
