Poll 7 is over and out of this heavy hitter group, Dwight Eisenhower won with 9 votes and FDR came in second with 6 votes.  What is suprising to me, is how poor JFK did.  He only got 1 vote.  I am also suprised at how well Nixon did (4 votes) considering Watergate.

Poll 8 features the last 6 presidents and thus is the last poll for Round 1:  This poll expires Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 8:30 pm CDT

My choice happens to be my favorite president of all, the Gipper, Ronald Reagan.  He was the president of my birth and I have great affection for the man and his administration.

Ford pardoned Nixon and restored faith in government.
Carter enacted many social programs and environmentalist garbage, specifically the Deparment of Energy.
Reagan tripled the national debt, escalated the War on Drugs, failed to enact most of his campaign platform, invaded Grenada, and funded future enemies like Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.
Bush raised taxes, enacted the Americans with Disabilities Act, and declared war on Iraq and Panama.
Clinton exterminated the Branch Davidians, forcibly returned Elian Gonzales to Cuba, got involved in Somalia, Kosovo, Bosnia, and Haiti, raised taxes, tried to nationalize health care, and made even stricter gun control laws.
Bush led us into agressive wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, raised the national debt even more, failed to veto all but a few bills that crossed his desk, reduced civil liberties and free speech, and completely betrayed conservative principles.

Ford by default.
