Liberty and Demrepdan both voted, and thus both are, I'm sure, readily available at a moment's notice. As has been stated, Justices don't really have to be active, unless there is a case pending. Hopefully they can be notified so that they follow the arguments as this case evolves.

Federal Agents have been deployed to supplement the protective details of all federal officials: The President, VP, Cabinet members, Senators, Senators-Elect and Supreme Court Justices. Similar services are being offered by Federal Authorities to the Regional Governors.

I'll take it.  Texas borders New Mexico, ya know Smiley

Supreme Court Chief Judge improving

Docotrs have moved the Supreme Court Cheif Judge KEmperor out of intensive careand into their Gunshot ward. He is now fully conscious and taken calls from class firends. In a statement released earlier this evening, Mr. Emperor stated his sincere thanks for all the well-wishers and friends who had helped his family get through the last few, intense days.

There is still no further news on the attempted assassin, but police have determined that the numberplate bore Maryland decal, and are focussing the hunt for the man in that state. Mr. Emperor said "I can't wait to try this son-of-a-beach", but has otherwise not commented on the gunman.

We will have more news as it comes to hand.

This has been a Midgard news wire report.

Police say: NixonNow innocent

A statement by the police, loooking into the KEmperor assassinatin, said today that the scapegoating of Mr. NixonNow (aka as Richard M. Nixon, ghwbush, etc) was inappropriate and that he wished for the law to be allowed to follow it's own course.

(Routers) Nyman, DC
Rumors concerning whether NixonNow and the Police Commissioner are in cahoots are rampant after the recent public refutation of other rumors concerning Mr. NixonNow by the police.  Neither set of rumors have been confirmed, despite the obvious desire of many people that it were otherwise.

In breaking news, a United Airlines flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Newark crash on route. Early reports indicate that 11 passangers and one crew die immediately; a further 4 are in critical care.

The cause of the crash is not yet determined, but the black box has been located. It was not believed to be the work of terrorists, and the plane was recently underwent repairs to wheel mechanics, although that is not expected to have caused any mid-flight prolems.

*Honour roll of the dead*

Co-Capt. Fritz Nolan, Queens NY, 40
Catherine Hollis, Dallas TX, 44 (Pregnant)
Michael Hollis, Dallas TX, 8
Emily-Joan Hollis, Dallas TX, 2
Daria Novgorovsky, Yonkers NY, 29
Henry Julien, Birmingham England, 56
Jana Anderson, San Antonio TX, 19
Joseph Guzzi, Elizabeth NJ, 34
Geraldine Browning, Providence RI, 45
Fiona Deitrich, Newark NJ, 15
*Unidentified Male, approx. 40s*

More news to come.

Sad

KEmperor released, condition 'good']/b]

In other news, Supreme Court Chief Justice KEmperor was today released from Nyman Central Hospital. In a brief statement to the media, he thanked the doctors for their high quality of care, and his wife, Mrs. Anna Emperor, for her strength. He is resting in his holiday residence near Concord, New Hampshire.

The gunman is still not apparent, but police have recieved many calls about cars carrying pink and blue stickers, and are following all leads.

(I promise there will be no new storylines)

12 miles south of Branson puts the crash site near, if not actually on the Missourri-Arkansas border.  Where exactly is it?  (And in the mean time I'm trying to contact the Boone County authorities to see if they need any assistance from either Little Rock or Memphis, if the tragedy is there.)

FEMA, NTSB, and FAA have been notified, are going to use standard operating procedure for such events, including full investigation of crash and an exploration of all possible causes, including sabotage.

No cause currently seems more likely than any others.

(It was just north of the border, ernest)

Gregory Hollis shocked by lack of interest
The sole remaining member of the Hollis family of Dallas, TX, which lost two children, an unborn baby and their mother spoke out today about the lack of compassion. In a brief statement released today he csaid that he had seen only very little news coverage and no governmental concern. "After the way we've been ignored by the government, there is no chance of me voting for any any of my senators, governors or Presidents". He was especially concerned about the lack of action the president is taking, and the fact that all survivors of the flight have been ignored.

"This is a national tragedy, but people seem to care more about some nutjob Republican from Iowa". When pressed if he meant John, he replied "Well that's open for interpretation".

This has been a Midgard wire service report.

Twelve people dead is a statistic, not a tragedy.  Approximately ten thousand people die every day in Atlasia from various causes.  To be blunt, the loss of life and property in this plane crash is insignificant at both the Federal and Regional level.  If government consolation at all is due the Hollis', then it would most appropriately come from either the Mayor of Dallas (where the Hollis' lived), the Public Adminstrator of Taney County (where the Hollis' died), or both.  Neither of those positions is held by a member of this Forum.

Actually I think he's saying the exact opposite.  Ernest's version of the quote would be "When you kill one, it is a statistic.  When you kill ten million, it is a tragedy."

Cold nonetheless, but a new spin on cold.  Wink

Other than dying in a spectacular fashion, what made the deaths of those twelve any more tragic than that of anyone else who died that day of unnatural causes?
