I know, but I can hope.  Did anyone see that pictures of my favorite American Idol contestant (rolls eyes), Jason Castro, smoking pot, have surfaced.  (way too many commas in there)

ok, I went to Parliament to check it out, and the whole lawn was full of people smoking pot, it was hilarious. Oh, the stench! When the peace tower chimed at 4:15, there was a cheer, and 5 minutes later another cheer! And not a cop in sight either. Well, afterwards I saw a couple of RCMP cruisers driving around the building, but they weren't arresting anyone. I also noticed a large crowd of potheads in the park across from the US embassy which is in sight from the east side of Parliament Hill.  Afterwards, I noticed a long lineup at the convenience store at the nearby mall as the stoners wanted to get their munchies. I laughed as I noticed a noticeable dent in the amount of chips on the shelf. I figure next year, I'll walk around selling chips. I also noticed the Green Party going around talking to people. Talk about political opportunism!

my university really isn't too big on 420. I considered applying to Reed College, which would have been a way different story.

What a silly thing to say. I don't smoke but I don't care if other people want to. It's their business. And my school was pretty big on this event today. There was a big smoke cloud over Boulder I'm sure.

It seems to be a big characteristic of the GOP in that part of the country (Ohio-Pennsylvania-New Jersey).

Most immature response but not surprising.

Not that I care whether people smoke pot, but what's the point in flaunting it in public? Seems rather childish.

I watched the extended version of Apocalypse Now, which took up an absurdly large portion of my day.

Even acknowledging the existence of April 20th is a mark of loserdom.

You're an idiot and no one on this forum particularly likes you.

Perhaps, yet he is correct.

Well, the day passed and because there was not school and I had to be up early this morning so I got back in early, I did not see a single person high.  However, in a town with a lot of wannabe gangstas, I'm sure use was rampant.

Why is it silly?  They were breaking the law, and therefore should be punished.

If they weren't breaking the law, this "holiday" wouldn't even exist.

They were breaking the law, and therefore should be punished.

Most people are able to recognize that the law is not always inherently right.  Supporting cannabis prohibition only because it is the status quo is circular logic.

There could be any number of reasons for your irrational support of incarceration of cannabis users, but whatever they are, you clearly don't want to reveal them.

blah blah blah ... until it is changed, it is still against the law, and therefore, the people should be punished.  You can't talk your way around that.

It seems silly to me to get pissed off and act vindictive over this and hope for their arrest. (Very few people, if any got arrested though naturally) Like I said, I don't smoke so I really don't have the heart to heavily defend my stance but it's of no concern to me what they do on 4/20. On a related note, one of my classes was canceled today. The professor said he was "sick". Probably still baked from yesterday.

I wasn't the one calling for them to be arrested.  I said punished.  I was merely responding to your comment about Driedapples comment being "silly."  If you break the law, you get punished.  Not a hard concept to grasp.

I read an article a few hours ago about a man in a Middle Eastern country who was found by police and tortured to death for violating Taliban orders not to teach girls algebra.

But hey, the jerk was breaking the law right?

Yeah, because we torture drug users to death in the U.S. all the time.  Roll Eyes
