They would vote Democratic if they could.
Well, unless my dad were as involved in the American Green Party as he is in the German Green Party.

My father rather impressively confided in me that he would definitely be voting for Obama if he were the nominee.  This from a man who used to be a Republican.  Hopefully my mother will vote as he tells her - I'm pretty sure she cannot understand something so complicated as voting.  But her knee-jerk reaction will be to vote against Obama because he is a black.

My daddy is both dead and a Republican, and if you are both, you don't vote. Tongue  Mommie is mentally not there, so unless my brother who manages her affairs votes for her, she won't be voting either. My brother says he like all three candidates still in the hunt, but he's a pretty liberal Democrat (isn't everyone in the Bay area?), so if he does vote for her, I suspect it won't be for McCain.

I know that. But it'd be somewhat odd.

Dad: probably Obama, though I doubt he is even registered to vote.

Mom: Obama, in all likelihood.  If Hillary Clinton is nominated, then she will vote for John McCain.

Am I my father?

My mom usually votes SPD these days, by the way.
And it's not odd at all. The media just want to make you think that.
