Previous round:
Canada         -25 (78.1%)
Norway         -7 (21.9%)
This was far less close than expected. Either I've underestimated Canada or overestimated Norway. Regardless, Canada is firm favourite to reach the final now.
Canada will be met in the semifinal by either Germany or New Zealand. Germany won a group containing France in the first round, then defeated narrowly San Marino (11-10), and more convincingly, Chile (17-8). New Zealand won a difficult group containing Netherlands and Japan, then defeated easily Argentina (6-15) and the UK (14-6). This contest is likely to be very contentious, as European countries have dominated (9-6 against non-European countries), but English speaking countries have been  also quite successful (5-2) - not surprising, considering this forum.
Some pictures of the two countries:
Germany

New Zealand

Here is the bracket.

DEUTSCHLAND WIRD NEW ZEALAND VERNICHTEN!!!!!

Okay, probably not... but this was a very tough choice.  I voted Germany because I've been there and I really really liked it.  I mean.. the food and the beer is fcuking amazing...

But I can imagine I would love New Zealand if it weren't so damn expensive to get there.

Berlin isn't as important in Germany as people outside Germany think, and really only ever has been, if at all, during the 50 years before WWII. Historically, it's just some dumb border town.

For English posters: Imagine Carlisle suddenly growing to massive size and importance in the 18th century.

Well, it's the capital again, and this particular building has rather important historical significance.
It's difficult to find a good picture representing such a large and varied country. Perhaps this would be better:

Well, would you feel better represented by Worms or Lubeck?

Also voted for New Zealand. Scenery.

I would certainly begin to feel represented if one of the two pictures chosen was from an unequivocally Western European location. Lübeck is already iffy in that respect. The old Roman city of Worms would have been a nice pick, yeah.
Nice view of Frankfurt you found there, GMantis. Although I'll disagree that the Brandenburg Gate has much historical significance. It's an icon of Berlin, of course - the largest and most stately of the gates in the 18th century city wall (because it led towards Bellevue Castle, and towards Brandenburg and Potsdam towns beyond), and the only one not to be torn down when the wall itself was in the 19th century.
