Libertarianism is the single most dangerous theme in American politics.  It must be crushed and the idea that so many young people have this retarded notion that it would work is scary.

I agree.

I don't think I've ever actually seen you explain why you hate it so much.

Anyone have any ideas or input into the causes of this?

In most cases, this is caused by a misperception of one's economic class.  Of course in a few cases this is an appropriate ideology for the young person, assuming they are from a sufficiently wealthy family.

However given the fact that these individuals are not stupid enough to be social conservatives as well, there is hope that they may awaken to their true class identity once they are faced with unremitting toil post-graduation.

It's cold and uncaring, amongst other reasons.  I had a really good rant before I went to my cabin Tongue

Either way, I'm better at ranting when I'm responding to something or someone.

Well, more than any other political philosophy, libertarianism places great value on the fundamental liberty of the individual; I wouldn't call that cold or uncaring, though you may obviously disagree.

As long as the current elite controls the republican party, libertarians have no room whatsoever because they just pander to libertarianism to get more votes, but then dump all libertarians.
