Obama will NOT get 40% + of the whites. I don't know why you all are under that impression.

The source of this belief is most likely Virginia, where he won 52% of the white vote.

1.  nc is not va
2.  joe, even you would have to reluctantly acknowledge that obama-mania has faded somewhat since those virginia days.

For about the seventeenth time, please stop attributing particular opinions to me and then attacking me for holding them.  Re-read my post and tell me where I said I disagreed with AHDuke's assessment.

Clinton probably would win the white vote in Virginia by several points if the primary was held today.

Obama +5, but it could be more depending on black turnout.

And SUSA comes out with their final poll just a few minutes ago and predicts Obama +5. Knowing SUSA's track record, I may be right. Wink

I still say Obama will break the 40% mark with white voters. Well put it this way, it won't shock me if he does or doesn't.

But SUSA has underpolled the southern states. I don't believe any polling company has got close to predicting a sountern state right. I could be wrong.

Who knows, really. But SurveyUSA does have the best track record by far of all the pollsters, and I see no reason to doubt them. I'll have to see the crosstabs when they come out.

Not in the south they don't. SUSA doesn't do that hot with the southern states polling them.

So far no pollster has nailed any of the southern states this election.

SUSA has been one of the closest often, but usually they were the one understating Obama the least in those cases. I'm thinking PPP might be the one to look to here despite their PA snafu (which they completely owned up to), they did destroy everyone else in Wisconsin with a similar pattern and are based out of NC.

Oh yeah!  Ok, let's say that you rolled only 3's and 5's, and your opponent(s) rolled 4's, and you ended up with 3 less battalions than you expected but overall better off.

Don't toy with my feelings like that...
