How old were you when you got married (and how old was your spouse)?

Curious to see in which age you lose your precious freedom.

I'm engaged. Probably by the time we're 23 and 22 respectively.

That's the thought - take a week off and go somewhere nice, like an island resort, and celebrate both birthdays and the anniversary. Also makes it hard for me to forget the date... Wink

The wedding was at age 29 (me) and 26, so we both had plenty of single adult years. That was a long time ago, and I'm happy to say we're still both delighted with the arrangement.

3 days after my 21st birthday
and then again 3 weeks before my 30th birthday

Lesson here is....don't get married before your 25th birthday

I got married when I was 22, about a month and a half before my 23rd birthday. My wife was 24.

We got married so that we could stay together. If we hadn't lived on opposite sides of the globe and had to worry about migrating and all of that crap we'd probably wouldn't have bothered and just lived together and shared everything. So if anything terrible happened in the future it'd be less of a problem to part ways. I'd say that's a lot less stressful of an arrangement for anyone who can do it, but of course you have to find the right person. Some partners want to be officially this or that or it's somehow less 'real' to them. Load of crap.
