...surgery.  I just had to do that.

All four wisdom teeth are getting pulled out, and it's gonna suck.

Good luck, man.  I had all four of mine yanked 5 years ago.  None of mine were absessed, and if yours are not, it won't be too bad.  Heck, I was alert and talking the evening after the operation.  The worst time for me was the second week when the neighboring teeth were crying and smarting over the loss of the neighbors.  That hurt quite a bit.

You'll be back on the forum and back to life in no time.  Just take it easy for the next week.

I knew what it wasn't going to be from the title of this thread.

My dad was mighty cranky after the anesthetic wore off.

You did not have surgical relations with that doctor.

Ah, wisdom teeth - proof that our medical science has outpaced our evolution. Those teeth are there under the assumption that you've lost a few by now, but due to all of our oral hygiene these days we keep all of our teeth and those wisdom teeth have got nowhere to go.

Eventually this will be happening with me. All four of mine are coming in but so far all of them are having room to come in otherwise they'd have had to come out already.

Oh, btw, I hope you've stocked up on soft foods - you'll be eating them for about a week.

Just think of all the money you can make by selling the pain killers that the doc will give you.

Good luck. I had all my wisdom teeth out a few years ago. They were all impacted (worst case).

I'll be having oral surgey yet again - May 29th. This time it's a bit more serious. I have to have my underbite corrected.

I got it done with only laughing gas and local anesthetics. Never felt much besides dull pain; no nausea or anything.

It was one of the main reasons I joined the Air Force.  When I finally was settled down enough to get it done, the night of the surgery my wife went into labor.  The other main reason I joined the Air Force.  So I slept on the cold floor of the delivery prep room, hopped up on Codeine while my wife (now ex) went through somethingteen hours of labor.  Good times!

The surgery itself wasn't bad.  The drugs were good.  I never had to much pain.

Enjoy the painkillers!

I haven't had my wisdom teeth removed, and as far as I'm aware they don't need to be. I only have them on the bottom and, despite having many days of pain while they broke through my gums (they still haven't surfaced entirely), they are straight and dandy.

I've had my share of oral surgery though. I got six teeth pulled on one occassion, that was fun. I can remember before it began I was playing a game gear waiting for the novacaine to kick in and unknowingly drooling all over myself. Good times.

Yikes!!!!  That doesn't sound fun Sad

Anyway, with my wisdom teeth surgery, I never had to take a pain pill.  I was afraid of them, because I didn't want to get sick and go to bed.  So, I fought through the pain somehow and came out none worse.

Maybe that's whats wrong with me now, eh?Huh   Cheesy

ouch

Apparently, they weren't pulled out, but drilled out, since they were still under the gum.  It went good, but it hurt a lot when he took out the bottom left, so something must've happened there.  I was alert and with it mentally, although I kept saying "uh-huh" a lot during surgery.

Like any good centrist, I happen to follow the middle path.  My top two wisdom teeth went about ten years ago (they came out crooked), but the bottom two are fine.
