I have no problem with outlawing Capital Punishment, as a punishment for any crime in Atlasia. If the majority of nations in Europe and numerous others scattered around the World have outlawed Capital Punishment entirely, I do not see why the Republic of Atlasia shall not. Thus, I support this Amendment.

Truthfully this is one of those issues that I really don't care much about either way.

Your party resents that. Recant or it will revoke your seat.

Well appears that the Senate has no authority to pass laws criminalizing anything anyway except for "Punishment of Fraud." Smiley  (Maybe it's buried in an amendment.) The Constitution is really a very interesting document!

It also appears that there is no statute book. One just gets to scroll through what passed in each Senate session. I also noticed something about the Senate being responsible for adopting a budget (Article 5, section eight).  Is that little detail ever attended to?  Just asking. Smiley

The budget is one of the biggest issues in Atlasia today. AFAIK, the Senate votes to postpone it every year.

Obviously, I support this. Yet again, Atlasia has an opportunity to outlaw capital punishment, and hopefully this time it will finally stick.

I agree wholeheartedly and am glad to be given the opportunity to vote in favor of this amendment in the Senate.

Are we going to get a move along with this legislation? I really don't see need debate for this piece of legislation. It's one of those issues, in my personal opinion, where you're either for it or against it.

You should make a motion to move to a vote.

As for why I didn't initiate a vote in the last four hours or yesterday morning (the soonest I could've done it)... 3 AP's + two days = me not taking time to watch the clock closely.

Since no one seems to have any objections, we'll now move to vote on this constitutional amendment. Please vote Aye, Nay or Abstain.

I'm so glad this has finally come before the Senate.  I am STRONGLY in favor of it as it is one of my "pet issues" which I care most about.
